Vincenzo Piazza was born in Catania on 30th March 1959. He studied at Palermo University, the city where he currently lives, and got a degree in Architecture in 1983.
The start of the artistic activity is marked by the interest for the etching techniques which he started practicing in 1985. The first of his many joint exhibitions, in Italian and foreign cities, dates back to the same year. He then attended the courses in chalcography and lithography at Raffaello Academy in Urbino and in 1987 the first individual exhibition was organised at Tasso Gallery in Bergamo. Since 1995 he has also been involved in Ex Libris participating in major national and international exhibitions (Bratislava, Cluj-Napoca, Gliwice, Malbork, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Shanghai, Sint-Niklaas, Varsavia, …). He works with various publishers illustrating book covers and art editions. Since 1998 his works are listed in the catalogs of Libreria Prandi of Reggio Emilia.
In 2010 some of his etchings were acquired by The Prints Collection of Albertina Vienna and in 2014 some of his Ex Libris were acquired by “Frederikshavn Kunstmuseum & Exlibrissamling”.
